Dear Wayne,
I would like to thank you for your e-mail and apologise for the delay in replying to you. As you can imagine we have been inundated with phone calls and e-mails since last Wednesday, but it is heart warming to know that so many people care about the fate of these very special equines.

We have the 14 worst affected horses, ponies and donkeys that were rescued. They are all very weak at the moment and need good nutrition, veterinary treatment and lots of tlc. We are a small charity in terms of staff and do not have the resources for any active fundraising, so we would be very grateful for any assistance in that area as we rely solely on donations from the public. We will be able to use the money raised to provide specialist veterinary care, farriery treatment and medicines for the rescued horses. Please remember to gift aid your donation if you are a UK taxpayer which will enable us to gain a further 28p from every pound which is donated.

Thank you so much for your support, it is hugely appreciated.

Dear Wayne

Redwings Esther's Rescue Appeal

Thank you so much for contacting us and for your offer of help following last week's rescue operation and apologies for taking a little time to respond to you. It is good to hear from people who are passionate about horses and equine welfare, especially at a time like this.

Fortunately, we have all the resources needed in terms of stabling and land to ensure that the equines that have come into Redwings receive the best possible care. We do however rely 100% on donations from the public to fund our work and we would therefore be grateful for any help and support that you may wish to offer. We would like to use donations to assist with the rescue, rehabilitation and long-term care of the horses, ponies and donkeys which we rescued - including little Esther, a donkey foal who is only a few weeks old - as well helping us to care for horses from other Redwings' rescue and welfare operations.

There are a number of ways that you can make a donation -

By post - please ask people to make cheques payable to Redwings Horse Sanctuary, mark them Esther's Rescue Appeal and send them to -

Redwings Horse Sanctuary
Norwich Road
NR15 1SP

Or they can call us with their credit/debit card details on - 01508 481000

Or they can visit our website and make their donation on-line. You may like to follow the link below to our website for more information about this and previous Redwings rescues. You may be interested in joining our mailing list so that you receive our latest updates which will include information about this and our other welfare rescues. Please go to -

A Gift Aid form is attached which will allow us to reclaim a further 28p from the taxman for every £1.00 you donated - at no extra cost to you. If people have not already sent us a Gift Aid form and they are a UK tax-payer, please complete the form and post it to us.

Thank you again for your kind offer of help and please do not hesitate to get in touch again if there is anything else I can assist with.

With kind regards
